I've recently used it for some ZZ Top covers and it sounds great.rich and full with a little extra sizzle on top. The harmonics jump right out of this guitar with little effort. I got it on a trade a few years ago and was never really happy with how it sounded.UNTIL I PUT IT IN THE X-300!!! Lynch was playing maple body super strats when this pickup came out, and it is a perfect match for the maple body on the X-300. This pickup is essentially a medium output PAF style with slightly enhanced harmonics. I happened to have a Seymour Duncan TB-4 George Lynch Screamin' Demon pickup laying around, so I put it in the X-300. I stripped back lots of the wrapping and got to the actual coil wires behind the harness and found an open loop. Unfortunately, the UBC humbucker was dead on arrival. This allows it to sound like a Humbucker with both coils on and to match the volume of the two single coils when split. This is a Humbucker with asymmetrical coils: one is hotter than the other. Specifically, I wanted to try out the Westone Magnaflux UBC (unbalanced coil) pickup. I bought this guitar used to add to my vintage Matsumoku Westone collection.
